the guy behind the blog..

I am a college student currently studying a BTEC National Diploma at Level 3 in Art & 3D Design. When I chose my GCSE's i hadn't a clue what I wanted to be. I just took the ones I liked the look of. This consisted of Maths, English, Science, ICT, Geography, Resistant Materials and German, that's including the compulsory subjects. I passed them all, and gained a healthy range of grades of qualification.

First of all, i'm not an artist.. But I do like to experiment with all the different media's and materials I can when I am designing. I'm a sucker for a new pack of pencils and even find pleasure from a pristine shaped rubber, I could say i'm quite a perfectionist but when it comes down to designing, I am not afraid to get stuck in and learn from mistakes.

When i started my college course we had a rule.. We had to draw in pen. We were taught to hate the rubber, and told that in design there are no mistakes, within reason..

Bauhaus Design in Pictures

Bauhaus Design Movement

I take a strong Interest in the Bauhaus design movement. It is very simple but at the same time very inspirational. Some of the designs are modern today and are starting to come more dominant in the design world, even though in some cases they could of been designed over 80 years ago. For example.. the door handles that can be seen on the presentation toward the end of the page, they are dated, but if you look closely next time your in B&Q or somewhere similar, you will probably find one lurking around on one of the shelves.
